Travel Company Closes

Even as several travelers complain about the whole demise of huge registered companies for travelers, along with their ability to get into the very front of lines of the security at the airport, others hope they hadn’t shelled out two hundred dollars for a single year of what is now a discontinued service.

A week prior to the announcement of Verified Identity Pass Incorporated, which is a company that has operated the program called Clear in twenty airports all around the nation, was coming to a close, some people had just purchased their very first membership, which never got to be used.

Ever since Verified Identity Pass begun providing their services in the year of 2005, almost three hundred thousand travelers had exchanged personal information, along with eye scans and fingerprints, for VIP access to the quicker security lines of Clear.

Just this week, Verified Identity Pass stated that they were about to close since they were not able to negotiate agreements with their senior creditor to keep going with their operations.

The program of Clear comes along with airports in Boston, Atlanta, Denver and San Francisco. The closure of the firm leaves other companies, Vigilant and FLO, that, when matched together, provide almost the same services at only three airports in Jacksonville, Louisville and Reno.

It is quite saddening for the dedicated staff, as well as the loyal customers of Clear, that this company has stopped its operations. But it really cannot be helped with the demise of the company.

If you had been one of the people signing up for this particular service within last week, you wouldn’t have guessed that anything was wrong since not a single worker seemed to act like anything was up. Still, the company shouldn’t be put at fault. It is merely understood that it may be just a thing that occurs in life.

However, not every customer can be very understanding. On several websites on the World Wide Web, along with comments and blogs regarding news stories, several people who happen to describe themselves as previous customers have stated that they are very angry that Verified had renewed all of their memberships mere days before it went out of business.

Although several customers have already heard from the issuers of their credit cards that their annual two hundred dollar membership charge could not be reversed, several state that it behooves customers to ask card issuers since policies change and several companies might actually agree to get rid of this particular charge.

This may be the sole way on getting their money back since customers are very unlikely to gather a lot when it comes to bankruptcy proceedings. If claims were filed, all they would get would be several cents. And it would take much longer for them to fill out all of the paperwork, as well as calling bankruptcy lawyers.

For several customers, it is more worrisome that the company still holds a huge number of their private information, though.
